Contains the following type of materials: photographs. Covers the following war: World War I (WWI). Contains photographs of the following military unit: 28th Division. General description of the collection: The Maurice E. Trout photograph collection includes the souvenir photos Private Trout brought home from Europe at the end of his service. 72 of them he "rescued" from a German newspaper office and they include some of the famous photos of the Kaiser, German fliers, war's carnage, and other syndicated type images of the war. There are also 93 picture postcards from Paris, Saint Nazaire, Toul, Le Mans and elsewhere in France and Luxembourg. The other single photo is a relatively poor picture of Private Trout in uniform. Nothing in this collection relates to his unit (Headquarters Company, 110th Infantry, 28th Division) except his own photo and a small published book of drawings of the 28th Division in France by Eugene Gilbert of the 103rd Engineeers.
